Schaumburg remains an exceptional place to live and raise a family. At least 9 in 10 residents gave an excellent or good rating to their overall quality of life in the village and the overall image or reputation of the village. Residents favorably rated the village as a place to raise children for its K-12 education and availability of affordable quality childcare/preschool. Roughly 9 in 10 survey respondents would recommend living in Schaumburg to someone considering taking the leap.

Schaumburg Prioritizes Diversity and Inclusion

The Village of Schaumburg is an extremely diverse community, with 38% of adults born outside of the United States. At least 9 in 10 residents are pleased with the openness and acceptance of the community toward people of diverse backgrounds, valuing residents from diverse backgrounds, and taking care of vulnerable residents, which is well above the national benchmark. While the core curriculum is present at all District 54 schools, eight schools also offer English-Spanish dual-language programs; two schools offer English-Japanese dual-language programs; and one school offers a Chinese Immersion Program, all to which any student in the district may apply.

Schaumburg Schools Have an A+ Rating

According to Niche, a data-analyzing website for schools, both Township High School District 211 and Schaumburg Community Consolidated School District 54 have an A+ rating – the highest rating possible. The ratings consider academic scores, diversity, student-teacher ratio, clubs & activities, among other categories. District 211 is currently in the top 10 best school districts in Illinois. Stanford University researchers found District 54 to be in the top 2% of all schools in America for student growth, stating students achieved six years of growth in only five years.

Current Residents Consider Schaumburg as Good or Excellent Place to Live

Not only does Schaumburg have great schools, but a great community as well. Schaumburg boasts a vibrant commercial and shopping area, including Woodfield Mall, safe neighborhoods, plenty of bicyclist-friendly and walking trails, and high-quality parks and recreation opportunities. Schaumburg was even named the 9th best place to live in the United States, according to Money magazine.

Safety is a Top Priority

Safety plays a large part in deciding where to live. Approximately 96% of residents feel largely safe in their neighborhoods according to NCS respondents. Should an emergency occur, Schaumburg’s police, fire, and emergency medical services were all given an excellent or good rating by at least 87% of NCS respondents. Children will also learn and retain the importance of fire safety, as Schaumburg’s Public Education Officer visits every classroom from kindergarten through fourth grade with safety lessons progressing throughout the years.

Entertainment and the Arts Thrive in Schaumburg

There’s aways something to do in Schaumburg! The Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts has a full season of entertainment for people of all ages to enjoy, including music, dance and theater, and free, outdoor summer concerts. Children interested in music, dance, visual arts, or theater have a wide variety of programs to take part in through the Schaumburg Park District. Music and art classes are also offered to all students as part of a well-rounded education. Schaumburg is home to the Schaumburg Boomers, a professional baseball team that families love watching in the summer. Plus, you’ll get a post-game fireworks show on the weekends!
