Schaumburg Now 12th Largest Community in Illinois

According to new data released this fall by the U.S. Census Bureau, the Village of Schaumburg’s population increased by 6% between the 2010 and 2020 Censuses. This population increase is also much more substantial than each of our municipal neighbors, as shown in the chart above. With a total population at 78,732 people, Schaumburg is now the 12th largest community in Illinois.

Along with the total population increase, Schaumburg’s diversity continues to grow with a wide range of ethnicities and cultures settling into the community. Offering excellent schools, a superb park district, numerous houses of worship, and superior village services, Schaumburg is proud to be a welcoming and inclusive community that is home to more than 25,900 immigrants. In addition to premier shopping destinations like Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg boasts more than 90 miles of bike paths, dozens of parks, and recreational facilities, over 200 restaurants, the 135-acre Spring Valley Nature Center and Historic Farm site, and our beautiful 5,000+ seat Wintrust Field – home of the Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers.

These are just a few of the many reasons why Schaumburg continues to be a great place to live, work and enjoy! For more information, please visit the village’s website. Additional census data is expected to be released throughout this year and into 2022 and can be found at the U.S. Census Bureau website.
